Onsite Overnight Assistance (OOA)

Definition

Onsite Overnight Assistance (OOA) is an extra room in some SDA homes where a support worker can stay to be available through the night; it is a staff room, not a resident or family bedroom.

An OOA room lets a support worker be on site overnight, sleeping when they are not needed, so participants can get help during the night. On Find My SDA listings this is shown as the plus one, for example a 3 plus 1 home.

The OOA room is not counted as a participant bedroom, and the overnight support delivered from it is funded separately from the home itself.
